Torres appoints Manuel Mangarero to DPL board

GOVERNOR Ralph Torres has appointed Manuel Mangarero to the Department of Public Lands Advisory Board which now has five members.

The board previously had four members and could not meet without a fifth member, according to a legal opinion from the Attorney General’s Office.

Mangarero’s appointment requires Senate approval, and if confirmed he will serve a two-year term.

Governor Torres and Lt Gov. Victor Hocog said they are confident that with Mangarero’s experience, he will perform admirably in helping the board carry out its mandates.

Mangarero is a former police officer. The other four members of the advisory board are William Torres, Henry Hofschneider, Antonio Quitugua and David Evangelista.
