Farallon De Pajaros (Uracas) is the northernmost island of the Mariana Islands, located 64 km northwest of the Muag islands and over 760 km north of Guam. With an area of 2 kmē and measuring 2 km across the island takes the form of a steep volcanic cone emerging from the sea, reaching a height of 320 m. Its slopes are often precipitous and largely bare, being composed of lava, ash and sulphur deposits. The volcano has erupted at least 16 times since since records began in the mid 1800's, most recently in 1967.
